I'm sorry to put the word "Christmas" in the title, but for all those in denial, it IS coming up quickly and pretty soon we are going to hear cries of "where did the year go?" and "I'm not ready for Christmas yet!". Don't say I didn't warn you.
Giving my husband a gift at Christmas is not something I normally do. He set the precedent by ignoring every birthday, anniversary and Mother's Day. You name it, he ignores it. I always organise the kids to make cards etc for him and every now and then I will buy "him" some Lindt Chocolate (it's the gift that gives back hehe).
This year, he has worked really hard for us all, living on this beautiful property requires a lot of work and he really does put in so much effort. So I figure he deserves a gift, regardless of whether he gives one back; after all that's not what gift giving is about.
I started working on this present* for him earlier on in the year, I just had to collect enough pockets off worn out pants/jeans to make it happen. Finally I gathered my last pocket and was able to finish it.
The Garden Seed Organiser:
This is the perfect gift for hubby, he loves his vegetable garden and we reap so much beautiful produce from it. Now he has a place to store all his seeds.
The best part is, this was so easy to make.
All you need to do is cut a rectangle, whatever size suits you and hem all sides. Collect your pockets and sew them on.
Fold over the top edge with a large enough gap to fit a piece of
bamboo, wood or if you want to go really rustic, a stick and sew down.
Tie fishing line on to either end of your stick and you are ready to
hang! You could even downscale if you don't need one this large and use
a funky tea towel.
*Don't worry, I'm not spoiling any surprises, this lil' ol' sewing blog doesn't hold a lot of interest for hubby, so I think I'm pretty safe posting this!
Do you start getting ready for Christmas by the end of October? Or is this still too early for you yet?
Happy Crafting!
